Can Beauty Products Containing Perfume Be Too Much of a Good Thing

It is nearly impossible today to find any product that doesn't contain some kind of fragrance. Shampoos, shower gels, bubble bath, bar soap, lotions, powders, body sprays, and deodorants almost invariably have some kind of scent added to them. It seems that the only way to get a natural product is from some kind of organic store, you probably will not find one at a Bath and Bodyworks store.
The perfumed products are in very high demand and are very desirable which is why we are exposed to people all the time that seem to be immersed in a virtual rainbow of different fragrances. When one bathes in a perfumed bubble bath or uses a perfumed shower gel and then applies lotion with fragrance in it plus perfume on top of it all, it isn't difficult to reach a state of an overwhelming presence of scent.
Let's say that you favorite fragrance in your beauty products is coconut, you could wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner that had a coconut scent and it would be a nice faint scent that would get fainter as the day went on but if you also used a coconut scented bubble bath or shower gel that would probably be as far as you would want to go. Now if you were to use the same scent for a lotion and facial cream you are probably teetering on the edge of overwhelming.
The other issue with wearing strong scents yourself is that you are in competition with other fragrances all around you and even scents that are present on your clothes from laundry detergents and dryer sheets. Don't add to the assault on our senses by spraying a ton of perfume on as well. If you do make this mistake and have the sense to notice it, take an unscented baby wipe and run it over the area or dissolve some baking soda in water to make a spray that you can mist over you to absorb some of the scent to lighten it up.
If you have a spouse, friend, or roommate present, ask them for their opinion and remember that when it comes to applying fragrance, less is more.
