What do you think of the product? In order to effectively sell something you must believe in it. Granted your personal tastes won't matter in the actual selling. Let's face it, we all know someone who can sell just about anything. But to be believable you have to have faith that the product will sell nicely. If you are looking to join forces with a certain company to become a distributor, then you should know that company well. So well that you are currently, or have been in the past, a customer yourself. That much belief and dedication to a product will give you a good head-start on being a distributor for them. If you don't take the product, is it really any good?
How much do you believe in the product? If you are familiar with the product, then as previously mentioned, you already have an advantage when it comes to this question. Your motives for wanting to become a distributor are clear. But if this is a new product, and you're thinking of getting in on the ground floor, then you still need to know the answer. Know the benefits of the merchandise, even if you haven't taken it yourself. Ask people who have taken the product. You will be asked some questions when trying to make a sell. You need to able to answer basic questions. But, you know what? Not everybody knows every answer. That is when you get your upline team member on the phone and ask them. You don't to know an exhaustible amount of information to sell. If you don't know ask someone else or check the company website.
What are your goals for your business? Well, sure, you want to be successful, but how are you going to achieve that objective? How much time, money, and effort are you willing to pay out? Just wanting it to work will not be enough to make it work. You need determination and a burning passion for the products & opportunity you have. Consider what we've discussed as the other reason to start a business. Know basic information about your products. Know a little bit about the company. If becoming a distributor is something that you think you could be successful at, then give it a go. But do it for the right reasons. It makes no sense to do it any other way.
Your success is also dependant on the team you work with. Choose a team that can empower, encourage and support you appropriately. If you were going to get a haircut, would you ask the neighborhood kid or the experienced hairdresser? Use the same philosophy when choosing your team.
