At this time, most of the time, both parties cannot communicate with each other, and either school counselors or relatives play an important role. But sometimes, when no one is available or cares, it is the book that comes in handy. There are so many books written by good authors, psychiatrists and counselors that guide a parent in need, as well as a child who is in great mental turmoil.
For teens, there are books written on how to lead a healthy life, to choose what is right and what is responsible. The books are written in a way that makes it easier for them to understand and then apply it in their lives. You will never find books that judge them or accuse them - the books always try to make them understand in a nice way. That is what children need - not a finger pointing at them all the time.
Today, you see the amount of suicides have increased, as most teenagers are depressed, or have so much anger but no outlet or way to vent it. Words, whether spoken or written in a book, have a great effect on their minds and their thinking, and it is only when you are able to change the way they think, that you can help them to overcome their problems.
Parents need to read books on love and bonding. Just going to work and earning is simply not everything. Parents need to find a balance between their work life and their personal life. Make it a loving home and not just a house built with four walls. Don't expose teenagers to too much TV or virtual reality shows, but get them used to life in reality, in all its truth and learn to accept things that you cannot change, and be the change sometimes. Be available for them and meet with their emotional and psychological needs more than material needs.
