However, you understand that both you and your lover need to have sometime to think things through and to calm down. Therefore, it is best not to meet up for this short period of time.

Depending on the situation, two weeks to a month should be a good length of time for both of you to think things through, though one month is usually better.

4)Tell him/her that perhaps both of you can meet up after this cooling down period and will then share with him/her what is happening to you during this period.

If your lover has not been responding to you, sending him/her a short note like this may elicit a positive response. Sometimes, whether you can get back your lover or not is just a matter of knowing what are the right things to do and what are the wrong things that you must avoid doing.
