You are driving home and suddenly realize that the reason your wife wished you a special day is because it is your anniversary, something you forgot.

Now the real panicking begins as you try and figure out what to buy her so that she has no clue you forgot the most special day of your lives. You quickly scan the stores as you go by, trying to figure out how to get out of the situation.

The first place you should look is the easiest; the flower shop. Run into the flower shop and find a bouquet of roses to give her. If they are out of roses, you can go with tulips, daisies or lilies. Try and get her favorite flowers, but if you can't then get something that stands out so it looks like you put a lot of thought into it.

If there are no florists nearby, then stop at a store that specializes in decorative goods for the home. This does not mean you can buy appliances or anything else that will make you look bad and get you in a great deal of trouble. Try and get some beautiful pillows with designs on them, or perhaps a nice picture.

If you can't find any present, then at least get her a card. Try and find something that really shows your love for her, despite your forgetfulness. If you can, bring dinner home for her as well to show that you care enough to at least do something.

Never give her cash, or anything impersonal like that It is best if you try and make it as personal as possible and ensure the gift has enough sentimentality to say I Love You and I am Glad I Married You.

If you do forget, and you don't buy anything, don't just hope it blows over and she doesn't notice, because she will. Instead, come clean and tell her the truth. If it is because you have been working too hard, then she may just understand and you will get through the little hiccup.

Next year, make sure you write down on a calendar when the anniversary is and plan well in advance what you are going to buy and what you are going to do to show her how much you love her.

If you forget two years in a row, you got bigger problems than not having a gift for your wife.
